Cstation C-Series
Centralize and secure your PCs while delivering full PC functionality to end-users as far away as 2600 feet from the desktop with a C-Series Cstation. The expandable C-series model supports USB, PS/2 and most multimedia devices, ideal for environments requiring full PC functionality at the desktop such as financial institutions and secure government facilities. Additional features of the C-Series include a second PCI slot, offering the ability to add support for PC cards, SCSI, firewire, multiple serial ports, and multiple monitors.
The solid-state Cstation appliance is located at each user’s desk, while their PCs are relocated to a remote central location. Cstations are connected to a C-link PCI card installed in the remote PC, via copper or fiber cabling. This maintains the critical one-to-one relationship between a user and their assigned PC, preserving the PC experience for each user. The user’s keyboard, monitor and mouse are plugged into the Cstation that also includes USB, audio, as well as serial and parallel device connectivity using the secondary PCI slot. An optional video card resident in the Cstation provides for true DVI support, and video quality superior to any other extension product on the market. Plus, the open architecture solution allows users to decide the computer type and graphics card desired.
The Cstation C-Series appliance and C-Link PCI add-in card function as a standard PCI bridge connecting the Cstation to the remote centralized PC. Cabling is used for transport of the C-Link protocol, a point-to-point protocol with a peak transfer rate of 250 MB/s aggregate bandwidth (125 MB/s full duplex) between a C-Link interface card and a Cstation. The C1000 (copper) and C1100 (fiber) contain a multifunction system board combining the C-Link protocol logic, PCI Bridge, I/O controllers, audio, USB, PS/2, and video (optional).
